Caring Economy. Jetzt – for a partnership system

The Austrian platform CaringEconomy.Jetzt was founded in 2023 to further boost and build the caring economy and is a coporation-partner of the Center for Partnership Systems . The project is addressed to political decision-makers, companies, journalists and civil society. All activities contribute to the goal of building a partnership, gender-equitable economy which always focuses on the wellbeing of people and the environment. Caring Economy.Jetzt raises awareness of the Caring Economy through public relations work, consulting, educational initiatives, talks, data, facts and publications. The platform connects and networks.

Elisabeth Sechser, the founder of CaringEconomy.Jetzt, lives in Vienna with her 12-year-old daughter. After working as a social worker against domestic violence, she founded in 2005 the consulting company Sichtart, which has specialized in new work, agility and democratic development in organizations. As a publicist, she addresses overburdened work systems, unhealthy economic practices and political short-sightedness – and shows concrete proposals for solution. She is committed to a democratic, sustainable and humane economy that overcomes authoritarian, patriarchal structures and promotes radically good solutions.

CaringeEconomy.jetzt is part of the independent institute CloseEconDataGap, a member of the alliance fair sorgen!, the Austrian contact point of the Center for Partnership Systems and member of the Global Alliance for Care. She is calling for a fundamental rethink – and is actively contributing her expertise. “We can reshape our economic system – if we make targeted use of our human capabilities.” The Caring Economy and the work form the Center for Partnership System, which was largely shaped by the work of Riane Eisler, provides the interdisciplinary framework for this.

Riane Eisler and Elisabeth Sechser are closely associated since several years.

As long as the term “economy” is used incompletely and detached from ecological and social crises, as long as we ignore the largest economic sector – care work in private households – we will not be able to create sustainable solutions. So we need to put the word “caring” in front of “economy” to keep reminding ourselves what the economy is for.“

To build partnership oriented companies – The humanistic theory of organization

As an organizational developer, Elisabeth Sechser supports companies in their transformation towards caring, agile, high value-added structures. Her work focuses on the development of decentralized, self-organized teams of collaboration that enable democratic co-design, self-determination and continuous learning. She supports to build a modern, humanistic leadership. She is working with teams and organizations to move from hierarchical, patriarchal organization-models to new forms of partnership cooperation.

Every society, every organization
